A
sunny Sunday jaunt with many other enthusiasts most of whom will be on
big Brit singles & twins might not seem like the perfect outing for
a little Parilla but even the most dyed in the wool anglophile will be
impressed by the performance of these fine lightweights.
If you are in
any doubt ask Bob Moon ,Parilla owner & VMCC marque specialist. Bob
has used his Lusso Veloce 175 for many years on runs & road trials
coming away with a variety of awards including best overall performance
irrespective of capacity on a recent VMCC run.
2007 Events
Mallory Park Festival of 1000 Bikes ,July 14/15.

The weekend brought rain, some sun & two running Parillas to a
UK event - a first in 2007.
Three 20 min track sessions on Sat & Sun gave ample
opportunity to stretch the legs of the bikes & cramp those of the
rider in the case of my MSDS 175. A great event which allowed
many people to see a MotoParilla for the first time, inclement weather
spoiled it bto a degree but given the floods which followed the event I
think we got off pretty lucky! Bob & I look forward to
seeing a few more Parillas next year - who knows we may even be able to
organise a display.
2006 Events
Thanks to Bob Moon for the following :
Membership of the VMCC is well worthwhile, there are many events
Nationwide to ride your Parilla in, should you be contemplating riding
the Giro some are good tests for bike and rider. Here are a few of the
events in the North and Midlands areas. I will be riding my LV in these, it
would be nice not to be the only Parilla in regular use.
30th.April Nationwide.VMCC Founders Day Relay Rally.
Ride from centre to centre as many as you like, get to meet folk and
talk to them, let them see a Parilla.
11/12th. June Llangollen Meeting
A two day event based at the Llangollen motor museum, free camping or
good B&B close by. Interesting runs guided into the Berwyns. As I
will be guiding and on rescue for this one I may have to deploy my Velo.
Lets see some Parillas dusting up the hills.
8/9th.July.Festival of 1,000 Bikes at Mallory Park.
I shall be riding my LV on both days, I hope I will not be the only
Parilla out there?
Report: Mike m - As we are rather
a lazy lot , or engaged in rebuilds, Bob was the only Parilla out there.
A good 2 day event which I attended on the Saturday only due to an
urgent need to go looking for Parilla spares on the Sunday! Both days
allowed a couple of track sessions & plenty of time for
socialising. One for the diary next year when I do hope we will have a
few more bikes ready to display & ride.

Nice pic of Bob at Mallory flying the flag.
Front numbers are from Mallory back ones from the 2003 Giro outing which
the bike had.

16th.July Whitley Road Safety Run,
Whitley Cheshire. A good Sunday run through interesting parts of Cheshire, Ideal
for your Parilla.
Report:BM -
The Whitley VMCC R S R was
well attended this year due to good weather conditions.Once again the
little Parilla LV performed well completing the course, well a version
of it as some confusion on the route cards had bikes in all
directions. No trophy collected this time, but lots of folk saw a
working Parilla running rings around the British iron.
19/20th.August Ironmasters
Last of the Summer Run, Ironbridge Shropshire. A really good two day
event with free camping and the facilities of Ironbridge rowing
club.B&B close by. Barbecue on Sat evening. The Sat run is usualy
quite modest, Sunday is about 90 miles and can be quite challenging
through some of Shropshire's finest country. A good test for bike and rider. Rescue
follow up for those who fall by the wayside, but not our Parillas of
course.
10th.Sept Goostrey RSR
Goostrey East Cheshire. A good challenging run of about 60
miles through east Cheshire, some good hills. Come and beat last years
overall winner which was a Parilla LV.I am currently the only Parilla
rider taking part in these events, I could do with some competition.
