1955 Moto Parilla 175 Turismo Speciale

A rare opportunity to purchase a 175TS restoration project with the hard work already done.

This 1955 is a rare version of the TS with leading link forks which were only used for that year. Previous TS models had the rather crude “upside down” telescopic forks & later versions had the conventional telescopic forks used on all 175s until production stopped. It also sports the “big clutch” timing cover.

It was bought in bad cosmetic but mechanically complete state and the owner – a professional bike restorer – stripped it & had all parts refinished/plated/painted ready for assembly. Wheels rebuilt with new alloy rims & tyres. The engine has been stripped & cleaned ready for reassembly.
It was to be for his own use so everything has been done to the highest standard. Unfortunately other business projects have taken precedence & he hasn’t the time to rebuild the bike.
A chance to rebuild a 175 hicam where all the expensive & time consuming work has been done for you.

1959 Moto Parilla 175 MSDS – very rare 170xxx series machine

Any MSDS / GS 175 is a rare machine. 500xxx or 501xxx  are the usual series numbers. One special series was manufactured for the UK only. This series was equipped with all the optional extras available to be factory-fitted to the model. Gear drive X1 cam, Smiths rev counter & drive, CR gear box, 22.5mm SSI carburettor, alloy rims & the usual signature MSDS / GS cycleparts such as logoed clip-on handlebars, race tank & seat & racing footrests & controls. The series was 170xxx & may have included a dozen machines of which only two complete motorcycles are known to exist worldwide & they are both still in the UK.

This machine was fully restored over a period of several years with genuine OE parts from around the world, pattern or replica parts were not used and all the “signature” items are present. It is presented in its modern “competition” specification rather than with all OE parts fitted. In this specification – Ducati style “multispring” clutch, Vape 12v electrics & battryless CDI ignistion, Amal carb – it has completed 4 MotoGiro D’Italia events and several sprints & hillclimbs plus the odd Vintage trackday.

In the last 12 months the engine has been completely stripped for inspection & fitted with new bearings, both valves, new piston & barrel honed to suit, new seals & gaskets throughout. It is now fully refreshed & ready to take on any challenge you can throw at it. For further details & to arrange an inspection please contact:
