Petrol taps
Sold out...sorry!
I
have just taken delivery of a number of exact replica "sugar
cube" petrol taps as used on the earlier model MotoParilla models - made to
order in Italy.
These
have a coarse thread at the tank end - 12 x 1.5mm - & are on/off only as
original. Reserve is achieved by using only one tap - usually the one which is
fitted with a T connector - as the "main". The other tap then is used
to provide a reserve facility & its single angled outlet is connected to one
leg of the main tap. The other leg of the T connects to the carb.
The outlets are standard gas fitting thread as used on all Italian taps I've
seen.
The only non original feature is the plastic fuel filter... but how picky can
you get ???

The
same method of construction is used & the materials are original too - solid
brass with nickel plate finish. The OE one I have has had most of its nickel
removed by years of use, the replicas will take on the same original look before
too long.
Many of the generic taps you see about are cheaply made in aluminium with
dodgy seals & much bulkier than original - these are precise replicas
in the true sense of the words.
