250 high cam head gaskets

For as long as I've been involved with Parillas the 250 has been hard to find spares for. In the UK & Europe due to the small numbers imported & in the USA as they were the most popular model & spares got used up as the bikes were in use long after the Parilla factory had been shut.

For reasons best known to the manufacturers of the easily available 175 gasket sets they do not see fit to produce a 250 set &, in my experience, will not agree to make the bigger head & barrel base units to turn the 175 set into a 250 version without someone investing several thousand Euros in stock. 

After a couple of futile years trying to interest various European & UK manufacturers in making 250 head gaskets in reasonable numbers at an affordable price I've managed to get a UK manufacturer to produce a short run of prototype head gaskets. These are to the OE pattern but made in a modern triple layer composite material.

The OE gaskets I have are 1.8 to 1.9mm thick, the new versions 1.85mm. 

The outer fibre layers of the new gasket will compress by 20-30% to take up any inequalities in the head & barrel castings, the inner tin-plated steel core forms a rigid base layer. Users of solid copper head gaskets might well recognise that the machining on the joint faces is less than perfect so the ability to "take up some slack" will be appreciated.

This first batch is offered at a very low price to encourage you to try some out. Only hard usage will determine if they are 100% AOK for every 250 model from plodding Tourist to rabid racing Wildcat. 

The manufacturer makes gaskets for several classic bikes , Velocette & Sunbeam clubs being satisfied customers, & also for a variety of cars & high compression industrial diesel engines. They assure me that the performance of these gaskets will be found to be more than satisfactory. Your feedback on their performance in use will be the proof.
